V.W. Smith (General & Artistic Director) takes the helm
of Opera Manhattan Repertory Theatre for the 2009-2010 Season.
Mr. Smith attended the University of Southern Mississippi where his
training in theatre, technical theatre, musical theatre, opera and
symphony impresario. His extensive experience working in
Technical Theatre as well as playing in several symphonies has
endowed Mr. Smith with a much needed understanding to work for
a company that caters to young artists of all types. Previously, he
has held management positions with corporations such as the
Marriott Courtyard Hotels / Sage Corporation out of Chicago,
PepsiCo and ShoeShow Inc. Mr. Smith helped charter a non-profit
theatre company in the New Orleans area, as well as advised
several NYC organizations to incorporate and obtain their
non-profit status. Currently, Mr. Smith works as an Operations
Advisor for a major NYC based non-profit company.
