Shawn Milnes (Stage Director, Executive Artistic Director)
Comes from a musical family, and grew up surrounded by the great voices
of Opera’s Golden era.  He has been involved with opera, theatre and film
his entire life and career, and has had the privilege of working with and
learning from many of the world’s Great Artists.  

At age 10, Mr. Milnes made his television debut on Tony Randall’s
Love,
Sydney
sitcom.   

Then at age 19, was chosen to be an apprentice and actor’s liaison with

where he worked with the likes of
Martin Sheen and George N Martin.   

Mr. Milnes worked as a Script Analyst for several years for
Jerry
Bruckheimer Films
, which culminated in his selling a collaborative film
project to Bruckheimer Films and Disney Studios.  He has several other film
projects in development and is a member of The Writer’s Guild of America
East.

Though primarily a screenwriter, he adores opera and has worked
extensively in the field all over the world including Greece and Israel.  He
has collaborated with Nico and Carol Castel, Mignon Dunn, Renato
Capecchi, Frederica Davia and Joan Dornemann.  He has been involved
with the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel-Aviv and the American
Singers’ Opera Project amongst others.   

His prose work has appeared in Classical Singer Magazine and many
other non-musical publications.   

It is with great pleasure that he is now associated with Opera Manhattan.
