

Kirk Bangstad (Tenor) recently moved to New York City
from Chicago, where studied voice at the Northwestern School of
Music. As a tenor soloist in the Midwest, Bangstad honed his vocal
technique singing oratorio and recital repertoire including
Mendelsohnn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem,
Beethoven’s Mass in C, among other masterworks. Kirk recently
appeared as the Stage Manager in Ned Rorem’s Our Town with the
Raylinmor Opera Company in New Hampshire. Prior to that, he
played Nathaneul, Cochenille, and Pitichinaccio in Offenbach’s Tales
of Hoffman with the Vertical Players Repertory Opera in New York
City. Bangstad has also earned numerous singing awards including a
3rd place finish at the Chicago NATS competition, and a full
scholarship to attend the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz,
Austria. Prior to pursuing graduate studies at Northwestern, Bangstad
earned a degree in Government at Harvard University.
This season with Opera Manhattan, Mr. Bangstad debuts in the role of
Baron von Eisenstein in J. Strauss' Die Fledermaus.
